Someone designed us a circuit board. Is it right?
A contractor, a tool or an AI produced your board design. Before you build a hundred, have an engineer who ships hardware check it, bring up the first units and get it ready for RCM/CE. Design review AUD 2,500; review plus bring-up AUD 6,000.
Where you are
- A contractor, a freelancer or an AI design tool produced the board. It looks right. You’re not sure, and you’re about to order a hundred.
- Your prototype works on the bench and you’d like to know what the field will do to it before your customers find out.
- You’re a software team that now owns hardware, and you want a second set of eyes that has been through certification.
Design review — AUD 2,500
I read the schematic and layout the way the factory’s DFM engineer and the test lab will, and then the way the field will:
- Power: sequencing, regulator loading and thermals, reverse polarity, load dump and transients on 12/24 V inputs, brown-out behaviour.
- Signals: pull-up stacking on I2C, level shifting, bus conflicts, pin-mux collisions, unterminated lines.
- RF: module keep-outs and antenna placement, the ground clearance the module’s datasheet demands, and what the module’s approval actually requires of your host board.
- Protection: TVS and series protection on exposed pins, ESD paths, connector choices for the environment.
- Manufacturability: footprints, courtyard clearances, stencil, panelisation, parts availability and second sources.
You get a written report with every finding ranked will fail / will bite you later / cosmetic, and the fix for each.
Review plus bring-up — AUD 6,000
Everything above, plus you send me the first assembled units and I:
- Power them up safely (current-limited, staged) and find the shorts before they find you.
- Verify every rail, clock and interface against the schematic.
- Get your firmware, or a minimal test build, running and prove each peripheral end to end.
- Write down what worked, what didn’t, and the changes for rev B.

Going for RCM or CE? Add the pre-compliance package at the same time — the units are already on my bench.
What I need from you
Schematic and layout source (KiCad, Altium, EasyEDA, or Gerbers plus a schematic PDF), the BOM, the firmware or whatever exists, and a paragraph on where the product lives and what it has to survive.
What’s not included
- Redesign. The review says what to change; a respin is a separate fixed quote.
- A guarantee that a design I didn’t create will pass. What you get instead is a written, ranked list of everything the review and bring-up turned up, before the lab or your customers turn it up for you.
