Kelly KBL or KEB controller: fault code, cuts out under load, dead
Mail-in bench diagnosis for Kelly KBL and KEB series BLDC controllers — the larger family (the KBL24301X is a 300 A part) used on winches, thrusters and traction drives. AUD 175 bench fee, credited; repairs typically AUD 300–650.
Models
KBL24xxx, KBL48xxx and KBL72xxx series (for example KBL24301X, KBL48401X) and the KEB series — the larger family, roughly 60–200 A continuous and 100–500 A for a minute depending on the model.
These are a different family from the KBS/KVD controllers: a different configuration program, different current ratings and their own parameter ranges. A KBS fix doesn’t transfer to a KBL, and parameter numbers from one must not be loaded into the other.

What the bench diagnosis includes
Same method as the KBS family, with the KBL/KEB program: current-limited power-up at your system voltage with the motor disconnected, live readout of bus voltage, fault flags and parameters against a known-good reference, and a written finding with a repair price.
What to include in the box
The controller and any cable or parameter file you have, plus the battery type, the pack voltage measured at the controller, and what it drives (motor rating, gear, typical load).
